Nach Angaben des Programmierers Vasik Rajlich hat die neue Version 2.2 gegenüber der bisherigen Version 2.1 folgende Vorteile:

-> Erhebliche Verbesserung im taktischen Bereich

-> Erhebliche Verbesserung bei Partien mit längerer Bedenkzeit

-> Verbesserung auch im Blitzschach; ein Testmatch im 3' + 1'' Blitzschach zwischen Rybka 2.2 und Rybka 2.1 endete mit #111, =296 und -55, was einen ELO-Gewinn von 51 Punkten bedeutet.
