Die Russische Verteidigung hat si­cher nicht zu Unrecht den Ruf, eine sehr solide Ausgleichswaffe gegen 1.e4 zu sein. Auch die beiden ersten Weiß-Partien Lekos im Wettkampf mit Kramnik zeigten dies deutlich, Leko nahm in der Folge bekanntlich sogar Abstand von 1.e4. Damit Ihnen nicht das gleiche Schicksal blüht ist jetzt bei Batsford ein Repertoirebuch für Weiß gegen Russisch erschienen.

Das griechische Autorenduo GM Kotronias und IM Tzermiadianos hat dafür das System 3.Sxe5 d6 4.Sf3 Sxe4 5.d4 ausgewählt. In einer rund 30 Seiten umfassenden Einführung stellen sie zunächst zahlreiche typi­sche Ideen und Motive vor, danach folgt der eigentliche Theorieteil. Er besteht hier aus 38 sehr ausführlich kommentierten Musterpartien.

Dass trotz dieser Spezialisierung des Themas das Buch derart umfang­reich ausfiel, wobei noch die sehr kompakte Gestaltung der gut gefüllten Seiten zu erwähnen ist, be­legt die sorgfältige und akribische Arbeit.

Doch auch hier gibt es natürlich Grenzen. So würde Peter Leko z.B. vergeblich nach einer Verbesserung zu seinen oben genannten Partien suchen, denn beide Neuerungen Kramniks konnten verständlicher­weise so kurzfristig nicht mehr aufge­nommen werden.
